So this is the story of a hit man alcoholic, and how AA can help an assasin get back his killer instinct. With an assist from a good sponsor, and the love of a great woman, anything's possible. Thankfully, the film's directed by John Dahl, a master of small, tricky noir movies like "The Last Seduction" and "Red Rock West." And he's compiled a first rate cast, headlined by Ben Kingsley (can you believe he once played Ghandi?) and the underused Tea Leoni. Leoni, actually, is the revelation here. She's smart and funny, and you really could buy her successful yet still single and lonely newswoman falling for this mob family killer. In the end, the story's not really all that original or memorable, but it's always watchable, and it's good to see the actress get a chance to shine.

"you kill me" killed me with its clever understated tones. Gone were the extra frills of dialogue both in the script and the charactors lives. What was left was the raw, stripped down, damaged person, or what was left of them after lifes darker challenges fed on them. "Life is not good, but it's good enough for now!"

My husband and daughter and I loved this morbid and funny film. It seems implausible at first, but if you like irony, gangster films, and a slight goth edge, you will probably enjoy this. I especially like the send-up and parody of AA meeting.

The entire idea of the movie is wonderful, a hit man with a drinking problem. The difficulty is that the narrative peters out and the resolution is so-what.

It's an odd movie. Ben Kingsley is a hit man for his Polish mob family in Buffalo, NY. But, it's Ben Kingsley, so why not? It was playing at our mall theater so on a Sunday afternoon we didn't have to deal with traffic and you know, it was fun! Tea Leoni was great as well. It was the kind of movie from the IFC that you want to support and we did along with a small but filled theater. You know, it's a winner for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Far more satisfying than the usual summer blockbusters. A thumb up for me even though Frank was a killer, he was a person with interesting issues.
